level that allows you to control connectivity parameters.

Based on an IP-to-country database, you can block all emails coming from untrusted countries.
 Flow control
Define flow control restrictions in addition to the access control rules, in order to prevent server & storage
overload, as well as protect the server from DDos attacks.

Axigen implements a standard-based Sender Policy Framework verification module for sender validation.
 DNS checks & DNSBL
You can validate sender IPs against a selected list of DNSBLs (DNS Blacklists) in order to block emails or
skip this validation for custom defined IP Ranges.
 Identity Confirmation
Axigen Identity Confirmation© is basically the implementation of a Challenge / Response-based anti-spam
method & enables users to effectively block unwanted messages from reaching their inbox.
 Blacklists & Whitelists
Permanently reject emails coming from untrusted senders / accept emails coming from trusted sources
via blacklists / whitelists defined at server level & further refined by the users from the WebMail interface.
 Greylisting
This feature enables Axigen to automatically reject messages from unknown senders / IPs with a
temporary error message, thus reducing the amount of spam received.

Advanced Filtering
 Filtering of RPOP incoming messages
All email messages retrieved from external accounts in the users’ mailboxes, via the RPOP service, are
passing through Axigen's processing queue.
 Sieve-based filtering – applied by administrators on multiple levels (server-wide, domain-wide, on
accounts in a class of accounts, or on a single account only), or by users on their accounts.
 Milter-based filtering – built-in support for calling an external Milter-compliant module.
 Message acceptance policies & message relay control – performed by a built-in module.
 Quarantine – for storing messages detected by an AntiVirus as suspicious or infected.
Message Routing Policies
You can assign different outbound IP addresses to each domain – blacklisted IPs will only affect the
associated domain & not other domains operating on the same server.

The Axigen Advanced Filtering System allows the you to define a set of filters & priorities at server, domain
or user level, offering unparalleled flexibility to setup company security policies.
 AntiSpam filtering
After applying the built-in anti-spam methods, the remaining traffic is further taken through a content
filtering process & Bayesian filtering.
For extra email protection, you can extend Axigen's standard ClamAV & SpamAssassin defensive
tools by integrating any of the available commercial Antivirus & AntiSpam apps.
Integrating Axigen with security applications can be achieved through:
– The Milter protocol (e.g. Kasperky, AVG, ClamAV, Symantec);
– External filters – developed as external components of Axigen (e.g. Amavis, AVG, SpamAssassin);
– Integrated filters – a dedicated integration protocol that brings significant benefits in terms of
reliability, configuration & speed (e.g. the Axigen-Kaspersky solution);
– HTTP protocol – a particular case for the integration with the Commtouch AntiSpam technology.
