Recent development projects
• FC systems for satellites and Mars missions for ESA.
• Filling station for gas buses which added 8% hydrogen
to the natural gas (as an easy way to put hydrogen into
market)
• Production of hydrogen and electricity from biogas at
Hynor Lillestrøm in cooperation with ZEG Power.
• Prototech is currently developing fuel cell systems for
stationary applications with integrated CO2 capture
• Prototech is now working to establish the first hydrogen
filling station in Bergen for vehicles
• And two maritime projects which will be presented next..

• Ongoing pilot project, MCTW initiative
(fall 2014)
• Supported by Transnova
• Examine the possibilities of using
hydrogen as fuel in ships today
• Establish a zero emission value chain –
hydro-power/electrolysis/storage/fuel
cell/propulsion
• Evaluate different ship types, but focus
on a specific vessel
• Develop preliminary design of fuel cell
system, based on existing technology
• Provide an outline for a main project to
realize the vessel
