Each Chablis premier cru has its own style. Some are more zesty such as Montée de Tonnerre and Côte de Léchet. Others are more delicate and fruity, like Beauroy and Fourchaume. Each climat brings its own personality. Chablis Premier Cru LeE bank example: the Vaillons climat and the climats that make up Les Lys, Sécher, Les EpinoOes, Châtains, Roncières, Beugnons and Mélinots. Producers with vines in Les Lys can call their wines Chablis Premier Cru Les Lys or Chablis Premier Cru Vaillons, because the Les Lys climat is a subdivision of the Vaillons climat. Litt historie…
Domaine Louis Moreau har sin opprinnelse i Chablis og ble
grunnlagt i 1814.
Allerede på slutten av 1800-tallet kjøpte familien vinmarker i
Premier Cru og Grand Cru områder.

I 1966, Jean-Jacques Moreau (5te generasjon) overtar ledelsen
i familiebedriften, det ikke ukjente J. Moreau & Fils
(vingård og ”negociant”).

I 1970 grunnlegges Domaine de Biéville, en vingård på 65
hektar i ”et stykke” (ikke vanlig i Chablis siden vinmarkene
ofte har mange ulike eiere).

I 1986 selger Jean-Jacques Moreau ”negociant” delen av
bedriften, men beholder de familieeide vinmarkene, inkludert
gode parseller i Premier Cru og Grand Cru.

Litt norsk innflytelse…
Jean-Jaques giftet seg med Eva Carlsen, en sjarmerende dame
fra Tønsberg. Sammen fikk de tre barn.

•  Studerte ved Fresno State University, California
•  Utdannet oenolog og vitikulturist (agronom)
Han har jobbet ved en rekke ulike amerikanske og franske vinhus før
han reiste tilbake til Chablis og tok over ansvaret for familiebedriften...
…leder i dag begge familiens vingårder, både Domaine Louis
Moreau og Domaine de Biéville, som han har gjort siden 1994.
²  En meget anerkjent vingård med viner fra alle kvalitetsområder i
Chablis, fra Petit Chablis til Chablis Grand Cru
²  50 hektar (500 mål) på begge sider av elven Serein
²  1995 - store investeringer i moderne produksjonsutstyr
The 1er Cru Vaulignot vineyard, the Calvary
²  Idag har de full biodynamisk produksjon i 20% av
vinmarkene til Chablis Grand Cru, Chablis 1er Cru og Chablis.
²  For resterende vinmarker brukes organiske produkter i størst
mulig utstrekning.
²  Kombinerer tradisjon og moderne teknikker i viner av stabilt
høy kvalitet

de 7 Grands Crus, samt parseller i Petit
Chablis, Chablis og Chablis Premiers Crus.
²  Den mest ettertraktede vinmarken er
“monopole” Chablis Grand Cru – “Clos des
Hospices dans Les Clos”, en liten vinmark
Moreau-familen kjøpte helt tilbake i 1904.

unik stil som kombinerer finesse, eleganse,
renhet med det typeriktige mineralske
preget.
