Blood Cup Committee
• PSU-MSU blood donor challenge is a competition between
Penn State and Michigan State to see who can collect the
most blood during three weeks in November.
• Blood Cup is a challenge that occurs during this time. Penn
State organizations compete with each other to see who
can donate the most amount of blood.
• As a committee we are responsible for promoting the event
at the Homecoming Parade. During the challenge, AED
committee members help successful donors sign-the Blood
Cup book so that their donation can count towards their
organization.
• Committee members celebrate the event with a banquet
during which winners are announced.
THON Committee
• AED's THON committee is a great way to get involved in the
largest run student philanthropy in the world! The THON
committee goes fundraising four times a year (canning), we
collect donations through THONvelopes, and we are currently
in the process of establishing alternative fundraisers.
• All the donations we collect go directly to THON, which
benefits the Four Diamonds fund, which assists pediatric
cancer patients and their families.
• We are also are involved in THON on a very personal
level. We are fortunate enough to sponsor the Torres
family. Mary Torres is our THON child and she has 4 other
siblings. All of the kids are so much fun to be around, they
are the most amazing kids you'll ever meet! The THON
committee takes visits to Strasburg throughout the year to
visit our THON family.
• AED Dancers
Social/PR Committee
• The Social/PR committee is responsible for
planning all social events for the organization.
These include: Parties, hayrides, tailgates,
dinners, etc…
• They will also work with our PR chair to help
design, promote, and advertise our meetings and
events
• There is also much collaboration with Blood Cup
and THON committees in planning and
advertising related events
