Hello!
I would like to take this opportunity to
bring to your attention the diligence of
all the members of the executive and to
their commitment to the well being of
our members.
The members of the organizing
committee for our spring district
meeting wish to offer a time of
reminiscence, entertainment, friendship
and growth. Hats off to Thérèse Caron,
Thérèse Chartier, Nicole Gauthier-Dion
and Suzanne Sorochan!
I sincerely hope that you will be able to

Bienfaisance/Liaison
Félicitations et bienvenue aux membres, Kathy Bond-Johnson et Richard Moore de Cochrane
ainsi que Paulette Cloutier d’Iroquois Falls qui se sont ajoutés au groupe d’agent(e)s de
Bienfaisance/Liaison.
On a jamais perdu sa journée

Le comité de Bienfaisance s’est rencontré le 5 décembre 2013 et le 24 janvier 2014. Les
rencontres ont été fructueuses et toutes sont reparties motivées à continuer de poser des gestes de
bienvaillance pour assurer plus d’unité parmi les membres.
C’est avec regret, qu’à la rencontre en janvier, Pat O’Brien quittait le groupe. Une lettre de
remerciement lui a été envoyée.
Grâce à Suzanne Sorochan et Lise Beaulne, l’envoi des cartes de fête se continue.
Thérèse Caron a contacté, par téléphone, tous les membres du comité de Bienfaisance de district
5 (17 membres des différentes communautés). Les conversations furent axées sur des faits
positifs. En plus, des suggestions/recommendations furent partagées avec la présidente du
comité.
Nouvelles d’ERO/RTO
de New Liskeard
Les membres ERO/RTO de Temiskaming Shores se rencontrent les premiers lundis du mois au
restaurant local *Roosters*. Le nombre de participant(e)s varie de deux à cinq ou six. Il faut
toutefois souligner qu’au mois de mars, on accueillait douze retraités. L’échange de nouveautés
(voyages et évènements) se déroule dans une atmosphere détendue et amicale. Au mois de mars,
Lynne Gravel et Murielle Bush partaient pour un séjour en France. Ces voyages dans différents
pays sont organisés par J. P. Gravel, un enseignant retraité du secondaire. Depuis plusieurs
années, il organise des voyages et bon nombre de retraités ont joui de voyages très intéressants et
culturels dans plusieurs endroits du monde.

Goodwill/Liaison
Congratulations and welcome to Kathy Bond-Johnson and Richard Moore from Cochrane and
Paulette Cloutier from Iroquois Falls who have joined the Goodwill/Liaison roster.

it’s those little bits of good put together
that overwhelm the world.

Over the past few months, the Goodwill Committee met on December 5th, 2013 and on January
24th, 2014. The meetings were productive with the members fully participating in the review of
our activities. The meetings concluded with a renewal of energy and dedication to continue the
volunteer work which assures more unity and communication among the district’s members.
It is with regret that Pat O’Brien has resigned at the January meeting. A thank you letter has
been sent to Pat.
Many thanks to Suzanne Sorochan and Lise Beaulne who will continue to mail the birthday
cards to members.
Thérèse Caron contacted, by phone, all the Goodwill members of District 5 (17 members from
different communities). The exchange and comments were all positive and
recommendations/suggestions were shared with the Chair of the Committee.
RTO/ERO News
from New Liskeard
The retired teachers of Temiskaming Shores gather on the first Monday of each month for lunch
at *Roosters*, a local restaurant. Sometimes there are as few as two, but most times there will
be five or six and last time in March there were twelve. The talk is relaxed and fun, relating
events attended or places visited. This month Lynne Gravel and Murielle Bush were leaving for
a trip to France. These trips, to different countries, are organized by J. P. Gravel a retired
Secondary School Teacher. He has been doing this for many years and many local teachers have
been to different parts of the world.
