Formé en 2002 par Anne Couzon Cesca, Arnaud et François Bernus, le Collectif 1.0.3 doit son nom à la manière de
nommer les logiciels informatiques. Soulignant son intérêt pour cet univers, l’intitulé témoigne aussi du fonctionnement du groupe, mettant sur le même plan l’unité d’un ensemble et la singularité de ses membres. Il révèle
également la tension et la richesse inhérentes à une approche collective de la création artistique.
Poursuivant sa réflexion sur les formes de l’organisation humaine, celle-ci prend alors de nombreuses formes :
dispositifs multimédias, participatifs et documentaires, installations in situ, programmes informatiques, conférences, objets, sculptures, et dessine une recherche, très précisément inscrite dans son époque, sur les flux,
les réseaux, les formes dites de l’organisation (du parking à la bibliothèque, du disque dur au plan de métro), la
dématérialisation et l’archivage des données. Les titres même des œuvres (Voyage en URL, Roll’ywood, MISMA
dont le logo s’inspire de celui de la NASA) prouvent la manière dont 1.0.3 s’empare des technologies et d’univers
apparemment non artistiques pour en faire des sujets de méditation et des objets esthétiques où le vertige et la
poésie ne sont jamais loin.
