2015 ARCHBISHOPS ANNUAL APPEAL
February 7/8, 2015
St. Philip the Apostle Goal: $47,370.00
We are often reminded by our Holy Father Pope Francis and Sacred Scripture that in order
to love one another we must share the blessings which God has provided to us.
In Acts, Chapter 4, we learn that the early church shared all possessions with one another so
that the Apostles and early Christian communities could fully proclaim “the resurrection of the Lord
Jesus, and great favor was accorded them all. There was no needy person among them.”
We are called to similarly share what is granted to us by God and return it to Him so that not
one of our brothers and sisters goes without: without the gift of faith; without the essential human
needs; and without a personal relationship with Our Lord. We are called to Share God’s Blessings,
and when we do, we find freedom and joy in proclaiming the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus, just
as the Apostles did over 2,000 years ago!

PRO-LIFE WORDS FROM HOLLYWOOD
“Indeed the tragedy of abortion haunts women from all walks of life. Abortion advocates are spending millions to package their tired rhetoric and half-truths in cutting-edge advertising campaigns targeted to young women... The early feminists
were pro-life. And really, abortion is a huge disservice to women, and it hasn't
been presented that way." -- Emmy winning actress, Patricia Heaton, from Everybody Loves Raymond

WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES 2015
Join us for the World Meeting of Families, Sept. 22–27, 2015. We will travel to
Philadelphia, representing St. Philip the Apostle, to participate in this historical event
that includes our Holy Father, Pope Francis.
Each month prior to this event, there is a theme to focus on for the event. This
month’s theme is: CREATED FOR JOY
We are more than an accident of evolution. We are greater than the sum of
our biology. God exists. He is good. He loves us. He made us in his image to share in His joy. He
takes an active hand in our lives. He sent His only Son to restore our dignity and lead us home to
Him.
God works, through us. We have a mission. We are in the world for a purpose—to receive
God’s love and to show God’s love to others. God seeks to heal a broken universe. He asks us to
be His witnesses to helpers in tat work.
The St. Philip WMF 2015 registration form/travel plans, including pricing, will be available in
January. Watch the bulletin for more information.
