TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH
THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST
Welcome to First Presbyterian Church! We are so glad that you are here. We hope that
joining us for worship today will nurture your heart and transform your mind. Here at First Pres
our mission is transforming lives through the love of Jesus Christ—that simple and that
challenging. We realize we need each other and commit to pray for each other. We reach out in
love and compassion to a world in need, and we know we are a work in progress.
If you are new to First Pres, we hope you will join us again and consider attending any of
our mission, fellowship and education opportunities. If you would like to learn more about us,
please fill out the visitor information on the “rose card” in the pew rack, and place it in the
offering plate. You are also more than welcome to contact any of our pastors over the phone or
by email. God's peace to you today. Rev. Jeff Lehn, Rev. Dr. Youngsoo An and
Rev. Arianne Lehn.

CONVERSE
CALL TO CONFESSION (led in Korean)
One: The proof of God’s amazing love is this: While we were sinners, Christ died for us. Let us
therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find
grace to help in time of need. Trusting in God’s faithfulness and compassion, let us confess our
sin before God and one another.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Please pray in your native tongue)
All: Holy and merciful God, in your presence we confess our sinfulness, our shortcomings,
and our offenses against you. You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering
from your ways, in wasting your gifts, in forgetting your love. Have mercy on us, good
Creator, for we are ashamed and sorry for all we have done to displease you. Forgive our
sins, and help us to live in your light and walk in your ways as did Jesus Christ, our Savior
and Friend. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS (led in English)
One: May our loving and almighty God who caused light to shine out of darkness, shine in our hearts,
cleansing us from all our sins, and restoring us to the light of joyful life in Christ’s presence.
All: Amen.

adoration!

Dream on, dream on, children of peace, till on earth God’s kingdom come.
Wolf and lamb will feed together; lions like oxen will eat straw.
Dust shall be the serpent’s food; no one shall destroy or hurt.
Children of earth in all colors, live in peace and harmony.
Hope on, hope on, Easter people: beyond the cross, a dawning sun.
Christ, our peace, broke down all barriers: nation, culture, tribe, and clan.
Reconciling us to God, Christ made us one human race,
Joined in peace and liberation, led by justice, hope, and love.
(sung in both Korean and English)
Mount up, mount up, like an eagle, to the heights, beyond the clouds.
Strife and sorrow shall not stop you; pain and tears shall lose their power.
Even though the young may stumble, God the Lord renews their strength.
They shall run and not grow weary; they shall walk and shall not faint.
