• Public school students in grade eight shall have the opportunity to take high
school courses in mathematics and in at least one of the following areas: …
• Credit may be awarded for an accelerated course only when at least one of the
following conditions has been met:
• accelerated students attend classes in a high school with high school students and
pass the course on the same basis as the high school students. Credit is awarded
by the high school; or
• the student passes the … Regents examination
