In 1906 Hahn visited Montreal where he investigated alpha rays of radio actinium with Ernest Rutherford.

In 1921, with Meitner, they made a very important discovery of Uranium Z – the first example of nuclear physics.

In 1939 Hahn and his group discovered the basic math of nuclear fission.
