CARILION CLINIC
• Carilion operates eight community hospitals and 152 clinic
practices throughout western Virginia
• Central distribution pharmacy
• Two retail pharmacies and soon will be adding two new
locations
• Carilion Roanoke Memorial, the largest hospital, is a level 1
trauma center with over 800 beds, including a 60 bed
neonatal intensive care unit
• Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research
Institute and Jefferson College partners
• 600 physicians representing 60 specialities

Carilion Clinic Practioners – non-profit and 340B
Carilion Medical Group – for profit

• Clinic ordering process
–Requisition specific to each clinic
location- preset list with par levels
–Single purchaser at each location with
approval levels above
–Orders filled and delivered Monday
through Friday based on clinic specific
delivery schedules
