WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW… FAFSA Mandatory financial aid application. This will show you how much money you need. Visit www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov to get an estimate of how much aid you will receive. The earliest you can submit your application is January 1st of your senior year. If you are prepared and complete your application in one session, it will take 3-5 business days to return with your Student Aid Report. Keep all documentation! WHAT YOU CAN DO • Learn what training different careers require • Meet with your school counselor regularly – they are waiting to hear from you! • Take courses that meet admission standards: Foreign language, English, Math, Social Studies, Science. • Push yourself to take the hard classes • Register for the SAT or the ACT • Join clubs, play sports, and volunteer •Attend college fairs and visits schools that you are interested in. • Gather information about colleges, financial aid, scholarships, etc. • Apply for scholarships early! •If you’re a senior, remember to request your transcripts and letters of recommendation early!
