Why SLED-STAMP?
• Problem = Lack of Maintenance Situational Awareness
• Solution = Real Time “TOOL” = SLED-STAMP
o Maintenance planning (P4T2) based on real-time, over-the-air fault reports
o Improved accuracy and consistency in fault reporting
o Provides Maintenance Production Control with useful planning data
o Reduces troubleshooting time; potential increases in availability
Maintenance Concept of Operations (CONOPS) driven design

What data does the SLED Report provide?
•
•
•
•
•
•
Power-up date/time: for linking to ULLS-A and MDR data
Location data: critical for planning DART missions
Aircraft tail number: for identification of reporting aircraft
In-air status: shows aircraft as in-air/on the ground at time of message
SLED Results: Fault isolation to the line replaceable unit (LRU)
WCAs/Faults/Exceedances: Crew station data filtered for maintenance
relevant information (ie, suppressed COM and NAV advisories)

Improvements to Maintenance Situational Awareness
• Better on-board data
o
o
o
o
Processing is on mission processors = no additional hardware
Discriminates between primary and secondary fault indications
Uses fault patterns to isolate faults to the line replaceable unit (LRU)
Fault patterns and fault correlations are based on a data table that can be
updated between aircraft software releases
• Improving the reported data
o Reporting uses existing Apache BFT hardware for non-line of sight reporting
o Reporting uses a data table based filter that prevents non-maintenance
warning, caution, advisory (WCA), and fault codes from causing reports
• New maintenance tools
o STAMP ground software runs on standard Windows PCs, interfacing to
existing USG FBCB2/JBC-P hardware
o STAMP GUI interface uses SLED Reports to provide maintenance users with
near real-time information about where the aircraft is and what faults and
WCAs the pilot is seeing
