Exchange in England 2011
Saturday, 14th May
We went that day to Bath for all day. We visited
Roman Baths there which were very old.
Unfortunately, we could not touch the water. We
did sightseeing of the most important
monuments and places in Bath driving doubledecker bus. After coming back my partner took
to her friend Tom’s place to watch Eurovision
contest. It was great. We came back late at
nights which is why I dreamt about falling
asleep.
Sunday, 15th May
We had a day with the families on Sunday. When I
got up I ate breakfast, and went to church with
my partner and her mum. We were back at
lunchtime, and then we went by bikes with
Bethan and her mum to the beach. I met Jakub
Wudarczyk there. It was quite a surprise when
we went bowling in the afternoon. I met with
most of the Polish students there, and I met
their partners, too.
Monday, 16th May
We drove to Lynton/Lynmouth on Monday. They
were beautiful towns, there were beautiful and
magnificent views. Unfortunately, there was a
lot of walking, too, but I still think that it was
worth it. The most interesting thing was ride in a
funicular, and lunch at the Valley of Rocks. We
went back to Dawid’s place by bus. We played
rugby and spent nice time.
Tuesday, 17th May
We had dance and sport classes in Pilton College
on Tuesday. After classes we visited the city
with a tour guide, and then we had a free time
for shopping on the High Street. After the
shopping we met at the library and went for
Eurodinner to school. There was a lot of
sandwiches and tasty cakes. During the dinner
my partner sang and played the guitar.
Wednesday, 18th May
We went on trip to Tintagel on Wednesday. We
visited King Arthur’s castle there, and also caves
in which he hid. The views were amazing and
breathtaking! After coming back we went by bus
to Marcel’s place, we ate tasty food, played
rugby, and unfortunately I fell into the river
rescuing my friend. 
Thursday, 19th May
On Thursday we went with our partners to Devon
Show in Exeter. In my opinion, this was the
most boring trip we had during the exchange.
The only good thing there was amusement park.
However I did not take a part in the fun as I felt
sick. It was a show only for farmers who wanted
to see cows, sheep, or dogs. However, after
coming back we drove to Bartek’s place, there
was a bonfire, we played Wii and had a good
time.
Friday, 20th May
I celebrated birthday that day so it was special day
for me. Pleasant surprise were wishes and gifts
from my family. We went to Exeter. There was a
big cathedral and monumental buildings. One of
the points in our schedule for that day was
shopping. We bought a lot of things. When we
came back we went to Ada’s place, where my
partner all of the sudden brought in a birthday
cake, sang me a happy birthday and „Sto Lat”.
So, in this way I spent my birthday in England.
It was one of the coolest birthdays in my life.
Saturday, 21th May
Saturday, 20th of May was another day with
families. It was also a day in which I could sleep
longer. I woke up and went to the concert
where my partner Bethan sang. It was also day
of Barnstaple. After returnig from the concert we
started preparing a barbeque on the beach. We
have met there most of our friends from Poland
and our English partenrs to sum up the stay in
England. The food was great and a fun, too.
After we ate we played rounders (the game
which resembles American baseball).
