Scanning and Entering Data Fields
1) Item number:
1.1) WcBc uses a Qualifier of a “P” (Optional). If the Item number is Scanned then the
Qualifier will be stripped away and then validated. If Fat Fingered then the Qualifier
will NOT need to be entered.
1.2) If the Item number is entered and if no item exist (F4101) then the Item Cross
(F4104) Reference is searched. If a valid Item Cross Reference record exist then it
will bring back the internal item number.
2) Location:
2.1) WcBc uses a Qualifier of a “L” (Optional). If the Location is Scanned then the
Qualifier will be stripped away and then validated. If Fat Fingered then the Qualifier
will NOT need to be entered.
3) Unit Id:
3.1) WcBc uses a Qualifier of a “MU”. If the Unit Id is Scanned then the Qualifier will
be stripped away and then validated. If Fat Fingered then the Qualifier will NOT need
to be entered.
3.2) The Unit Id is interchangeable between a Pallet Id, Movable Unit, Loose, Status,
or any type of Containment Unit Id. The WcBc system determines the type of Unit Id
and processes accordingly.
4) Container Id:
4.1) WcBc uses a Qualifier of a “MU”. If the Unit Id is Scanned then the Qualifier will
be stripped away and then validated. If Fat Fingered then the Qualifier will NOT need
to be entered. The Container Id is interchangeable between any type of Containment
Unit Id except an Pallet Id.
5) Pallet Id:
5.1) WcBc uses a Qualifier of a “MU”. If the Unit Id is Scanned then the Qualifier will
be stripped away and then validated. If Fat Fingered then the Qualifier will NOT need
to be entered. The Container Id is interchangeable between any type of Containment
Unit Id except an Pallet Id.
Fat Fingered is when somebody uses the Keyboard to enter information instead of scanning.
