How to use STAT!Ref Online
Search
The simplest way to search
STAT!Ref is to enter the search
term into the field at the top of
the page and click the Search
button.
Results
STAT!Ref will look for your
search term in every title and
searchable resource you
subscribe to and present you
with a list of the Results found.
Filters
There are five STAT!Ref filters that display under
the heading All STAT!Ref Results. They are; Codes,
Drug Information, Patient Information, Point of
Care and Titles By Discipline.
Filters are pre-defined groupings of titles that
logically fit together.
Whether a filter is visible or not depends upon the
titles in your subscription and whether or not the
filter is relevant to the search.
Titles by Discipline Filter
The Titles By Discipline filter has a number of
sub-filters, which are groupings of titles by
their primary discipline.
Titles by Discipline Filter
If you are only interested in drug information
click on the Drug Information filter. The Results
list will change to reflect only those titles that
relate to the selected filter. The titles that are
associated with a filter display below it.
If you want drug information from a specific
source, such as AHFS DI, click on that title and
your Results list will change to reflect only AHFS
DI.
To return to the original state of your Results just
click the All STAT!Ref Results filter.
Additional Resources
STAT!Ref includes results in other resources, such as
MedCalc 3000, the National Guideline Clearinghouse
and PubMed.
Results for these resources display under Additional
Resources.
Click on the resource you are interested in viewing
and STAT!Ref will launch that resource in a separate
browser window and execute the search for you.
Additional Resources
If you click on the “MedCalc
3000” link, under Additional
Resources, it will launch
“MedCalc 3000” in a separate
browser window with the
term (in this case “diabetes”)
already searched.

will display under Related Concepts. Related
concepts come from the National Library of
Medicine’s UMLS Metathesaurus database.
