College of Medicine Alumni Association 7/21/2015 Our mission To create a network of engaged and committed alumni that maximize their abundant resources – including their talents, services and financial assistance – to help preserve and promote the College’s mission, purposes and traditions. The College of Medicine Alumni Association works to foster mutually beneficial relationships between the College and its alumni; encourage and improve educational enterprises, programs and services that benefit the College and alumni; enlist alumni’s active support of the College through programs for fundraising, recruiting students, increasing the public’s knowledge of the College, and the professional placement of students and alumni. Goals for 2014 1. Increase our alumni outreach and engagement through regional and local events (goal to host a minimum of 15-18 events)in FY14 2. Create a College of Medicine profile on the UIAN (University of Illinois Alumni Network) 3. Establish baseline and benchmarks to measure progress of alumni relations, engagement and retention 4. Establish a consistent communications and marketing plan for alumni using all channels of communication available to us (print, social media, website, email, events, annual giving appeals, etc.) 5. Create and enhance opportunities for alumni engagement in support of the College, and promote the benefits of the reciprocal relationship between alumni and the College 6. Develop meaningful and valuable programs (cultural, social, professional, educational, etc.) that engage alumni at all levels (residents, MD, young alumni, etc) Building a Stronger COM Alumni Association Social media initiatives Website updates Alumni Benefits Building Chapters/Clubs – regional and local outreach Programs to support student/alumni interaction Connecting our campus alumni councils Building CME programming for alumni Alumni Outreach Centralize our communications (magazine, alumni updates, online network) and regional outreach Work with regional sites to coordinate and help support their additional outreach to their alums (local events, alumni reunions) One College of Medicine = one online network Launching a COM profile on the UIAA Network The Project To build a COM profile on the UIAA Network that will help connect COM alumni and students to each other, and to the University • Professional networking • Search functionality for advance search by specialty, region, hospital/clinic, etc. • Calendar of upcoming events and activities by region • Communication portal and tool for information sharing – us to you, you to us • Connect students to alumni for potential mentoring opportunities • Help us develop a HOST program alumni hosting/for residency interviews What can you do? What can we do for you? • Once launched, join the online network and use it! • You are the College of Medicine and an alum already - Mentor younger classes - Think about supporting a senior gift • Volunteer for alumni events • How can we better connect you with alumni? • What programs would you like to see?
