A piece of advice

Keep your grades up throughout the entire
year!
 Take strong and competitive classes during
your senior year i.e. continue on in math,
science, and world language classes
Be aware…
Colleges inform students on
the application or the
acceptance letter that
admission is
contingent on
their
performance
throughout ALL
years of high
school.
…negative notification
“We recently received your final transcript and we are
writing to express our concern with the drop in your
academic performance. Specifically, I refer to the grade of
a D in English 4.
Your acceptance to this university was made with the
understanding that you maintain a school record of high
quality through your final semester. Admission to college
is conditional and for this reason we carefully examine all
final transcripts.
Please submit a letter of explanation for the decline in your
academic performance as soon as possible.”
POLICE YOURSELF!!!
This summer…

Take college visits or participate in college
fairs and summer programs
 Look at college applications to get an
understanding of what is expected in terms of
deadlines, requirements, etc…
