of the final outcome
Some evidence of testing against the design criteria and/or the
product/manufacturing specification
Minimal testing and evaluation throughout the designing and
making process
This evaluation section is worth 13% of the project. This is partly a chapter at the end of
the folder, but evaluation will also be done THROUGHOUT the project, possibly even
written onto every page!
Limited or no testing of final outcome against the design criteria
and/or the product/manufacturing specification
Limited mention of some improvements or modifications that could
be made to the product
Page
Within your folder pages you should clearly evaluate your ideas, development
and problems along the way. This will at least include evaluation of ‘Existing Products’,
and your ‘Initial’ and ‘Developed Ideas’.
When complete:
1 - What went well and what didn’t? Give a diary, explaining any problems you encountered. Why was
this, and how did you overcome them? How could this have been avoided?

This could be an
easy 12 marks
compared to
some others!
Just be
thorough.
2 - Make detailed comments on each of the specification points. Have you completely
fulfilled them or not? If not, why did you fail?
3 - Include some testing of the product…. Show photos of it being
used and be sure to jot down some opinions of other people.
4 - Now make clear suggestions for how you could make further
improvements to your product if you had a couple of extra hours, or if
you were to remake/redesign it from scratch.
3-5
Some improvements or modifications to product suggested
Suggest further improvements needed.
Tasks to include…
6-8
Use good vocabulary…
“The use of varnish gives
