 Use the Format Photo Album dialog box to
modify album.

want, click Insert, click Create.

 Easy to use and/or many controllable features

Point and shoot versus a lot of control?
 Optical zoom of at least 3 to 1

Digital zoom is less useful and decreases the resolution
 Strong macro capability


Megapixels
 Megapixels are calculated by multiplying the
horizontal and vertical pixel dimensions:
 1600 x 1200= 1,920,000= 1.9 MP
 Only need a resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels
(not even 1 megapixel) to fill a high quality
computer monitor or a PowerPoint slide

Compression
 Compression allows for smaller size files with less
information but equal pixel numbers
 TIFF – no compression, used for print publishing
 JPEG (Joint Photographics Experts Group)



Fine 1:4 compression
Normal 1:8 compression
Basic 1:16 compression

Printing Photographs
 Highest quality print will have the highest
number of pixels and the lowest compression
 A 1600 x 1200 when printed at 300 dpi
makes a 5.3 x 4 inch print
 At 150 dpi you can print an 8 x 10 photo
 dpi are like peanut butter – the more you
spread the dots, the thinner the peanut butter
