New Event Clarifications
Q: Can students participating in the Flat Pattern portion of Fashion
Design use a basic commercial flat pattern?
A: Yes.
Q: Can students participating in the Fashion Construction portion
of Fashion Design use a basic commercial flat pattern?
A: Yes.
Q: If a student is participating in Flat Pattern Design, do you have
to construct their design?
A: If they choose. The manual states, “display pattern pieces,
sample and/or finished design”
Q: Does a participant in Financial Planning have to use the
provided grid for the Event Plan (page 138 of manual)?
A: No. However, the manual states on page 136, “One to five
pages using the chart format provided…” If a participant needs
larger boxes to fit their information that is fine as long as the
format for the information stays the same.
Oral Presentation
• Length (not too short – not too long)
