Soft SKILLS
Sherry Siler
Region IV Vice President
Soft Skills – some kind of NEW idea?
There is a popular belief that in today’s fast changing
and challenging business environment, ‘soft skills’ are
more critical for success than technical skills.
This is a misconception.
The reality is that it has always been
that way!
Technical skills will get you the
interview, but it ‘s the soft skills that get you the job
are skills, abilities, and traits that pertain to
personality, attitude, and behavior rather than to formal or
technical knowledge” (Moss and Tilly2001)
