Most people see
Armageddon as a
doomsday event that will
bring the world to an
end

"Har" signifies "mountain."
"Gadad" means "cut off," that is,
slaughter.
Armageddon, "mount of slaughter,"
will indeed be the scene of mass
destruction and death.

Armageddon is found only one time
in scripture
And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs
…For they are the spirits of devils, working
miracles, [which] go forth unto the kings of the
earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the
battle of that great day of God Almighty. And he
gathered them together into a place called in the
Hebrew tongue Armageddon . Rev. 16:13-16
Other Biblical terms for this day
The great and terrible day of the
Lord - Joel 2:31
Notable day of the Lord - Acts 2:20
Battle of that great day of God
Almighty - Rev. 16:16
The Battle of Armageddon begins
when the Jews Call on Jesus as Their
Messiah
Immediately after the tribulation of those
days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon
shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall
from heaven, and the powers of the heavens
shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the
sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then
shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they
shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of
heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great
sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together
his elect from the four winds, from one end of
heaven to the other. Matt. 24:27-31
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, [thou] that killest the
prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto
thee, how often would I have gathered thy children
together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens
under [her] wings, and ye would not! 38 Behold,
your house is left unto you desolate. 39 For I say
unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye
shall say, Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of
the Lord. Matt. 23:38
What sets the stage for Armageddon?
The Anti-Christ’s false peace fails.
Nations rise up against Him
And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push
at him: and the king of the north shall come against him
like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and
with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and
shall overflow and pass over. Dan. 11:40
Anti-Christ invades many middle eastern
countries and moves his headquarters to
Jerusalem, Mt. Zion
41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and
many [countries] shall be overthrown: but these shall
escape out of his hand, [even] Edom, and Moab, and the
chief of the children of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch forth
his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt
shall not escape. 43 But he shall have power over the
treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious
things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians [shall
be] at his steps. 44 But tidings out of the east and out of
the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth
with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.
45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace
between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he
shall come to his end, and none shall help him. Dan. 11:4145
The Nations gathered for battle at Megiddo
are allies. They are there to attack the AntiChrist
For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem
to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses
rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city
shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the
people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then
shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those
nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
Zech.
14:3
Just prior to the attack something
happens so that all guns are turned
on Jesus.
And then shall appear the sign of the Son
of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of
the earth mourn Mt. 24:30
The Armies of the beast and the
armies of the nations align
themselves as a single coalition
Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and
their armies gathered together to make war against
the rider on the horse and his army. Rev. 19:19
The Armies of Heaven descend with
Jesus at the Lead
I saw heaven standing open and there before
me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful
and True. With justice he judges and makes war.
12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head
are many crowns. He has a name written on him
that no one knows but he himself. 13 He is dressed
in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word
of God. Rev. 19:11-13
14 The armies of heaven were following him,
riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen,
white and clean. 15 Out of his mouth comes a
sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.
"He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads
the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God
Almighty. Rev. 19:14-15
The Devastation of the Battle
The angel swung his sickle on the earth,
gathered its grapes and threw them into the great
winepress of God's wrath. 20 They were trampled
in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed
out of the press, rising as high as the horses' bridles
for a distance of 1,600 stadia. (Approx. 180 miles)
Birds will feed on their flesh
And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud
voice to all the birds flying in midair, "Come, gather
together for the great supper of God, 18 so that you may
eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses
and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave,
small and great." Rev. 19:17-18
Jesus will move from Megiddo
directly to Jerusalem and descend on
the Mt. Of Olives
And his feet shall stand in that day upon the
mount of Olives, which [is] before Jerusalem on the
east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the
midst thereof toward the east and toward the west,
[and there shall be] a very great valley; and half of
the mountain shall remove toward the north, and
half of it toward the south. Zech. 14:1-4
