A RAY OF HOPE
In 1997, a Ray of Hope came in
the form of Mr A Sankar Rao.
Moved by the plight of the
poor, He founded the Sankar
Foundation Eye Hospital on the
7th of June 1997 at Vizag.
Mr A Sankar Rao, the Founder
and Managing Trustee of
Sankar Foundation, had a
successful business career
before he directed his energy
towards this noble cause.
A RAY OF HOPE
He had to drop out of school
and start earning even at the
early age of 14 as the family
was literally in dire straits.
A RAY OF HOPE
He worked hard and started
business in Ship Chandelling
and later diversified into
Timber Trade, Construction
and Real Estate.
A RAY OF HOPE
His last business venture was
the construction of 5 star 100
Room Hotel Viz., GRAND-BAY.
He sold it away in May 1995 to
Adayar Gate Hotels, Madras
which is now being operated
by Welcom Group Hotels.
Grand Bay, Vizag
A RAY OF HOPE
Mr Sankar Rao has reached the peak of
success and several eminent
personalities felicitated him for His
achievements.
But all this meant nothing for this Great
Humanitarian whose sole passion is to
serve man as manifestation of God.
A RAY OF HOPE
With His untiring efforts
and Vision, He has
nurtured Sankar
Foundation into an
institution of excellence
with emphasis on
compassionate eye care.
