A Celebration of the
Saint and the City
7th and 8th of June 2013
Spectacular awaits...
This June, Walk the Plank create their most ambitious project to date – The Return of
Colmcille.
A centrepiece to the first ever UK City of Culture in Derry~Londonderry, this two day
spectacular will see us work with London 2012 Opening Ceremony writer Frank Cottrell
Boyce and hundreds of local participants, to celebrate the return of the iconic patron saint,
Colmcille who founded the city.
We welcome Colmcille back to his city, to his people, and to the remarkable tales that he’s
missed whilst he was away. Expect storytelling on a grand scale, as processions, music,
performance, and more flood the streets for this once in a lifetime weekend.
