Objective
This presentation will address the parent requirements that
are outlined in the various Titles of the No Child Left Behind
Act. These requirements are emphasized to give the
stakeholder a guide to the actual mandates of NCLB that are
directly focused on Parental Involvement.
Included in this presentation is a snapshot guide of district and
school responsibilities for parental involvement.

a large banner may cost upwards
of $200.00

• All Title I school sites must annually review, revise if needed, and
approve (WITH PARENT INPUT) a School-Based Parental Involvement
Policy and a Compact for Student Success
• For documentation purposes please file an agenda and sign-in sheets
reflective of the annual review/revision of these items.
• Always entitle the event/activity on all agendas.
• Always list a date and time of the event/activity on an agenda.

& Supplies.
• Confirming requisitions will be accepted for refreshment/meal
purchases only without prior approval from the Federal Programs

Spend the Money!
• The annual set-aside funds for Parental Involvement are there to benefit
families during the fiscal year in which they are received by the schools.
• *You are allowed to reserve an appropriate amount for the purchase of
refreshments for parent meetings/trainings that may occur later during
the school year.
• Deadline for expending funds in the Materials & Supplies category is
Friday, February 27, 2015.
Revisions & Transfer Memos
• We are no longer accepting transfer memos
• The transferring of funds from one category to
another can only occur with a budget revision.
• Budget Revisions will occur in early November.
