Workshop for country reps and ISC meeting in
May 2006
 UNEP selected 6 country projects proposals
– Cameroon, Madagascar, Mauritius, Uganda,
Jamaica, Papua New Guinea
 Lead ministries and national institutions
identified (trade, agriculture, environment)
 MOUs under preparation
 3 Reps of each country attending the capacity
building workshop
Objectives
The workshop aims to prepare country teams for
implementation of country projects at national level.

 Analysis (understanding integrated assessment)
 Organisation (getting project started)

- Communcation …Be better able to explain the:
 Main focus, objectives and planned actions of the
project to project partners and stakeholders
 Rational and objectives of doing an integrated
assessment of a trade-related policy in the
agricultural sector
 Linkages between trade policies, agriculture,
environment and biodiversity
 Main stages of an integrated assessment and
how to focus it on biodiversity aspects
