Use:
We use the present simple to talk
about:

-The sun rises from the east.
-Birds fly south in the winter.
2- Habits
- I read a book everyday.
- Mom usually bakes a cake.

Example:

Spelling rules:
We add “s” to the verbs:
She eats pizza once a week.
He eats pizza once a week.
It drinks milk everyday.
We add “es” to the verbs that
end with: sh, ch, ss, x, o, zz:
Go- goes
Watch- watches
Fix- fixes
When the verb ends with “y”
and before the “y” comes a
consonant we drop the “y”
and add “ies”:
Study- studies
Cry- cries.
When the verb ends with “y”
and before the “y” comes a
vowel (a,e,i,o,u) we add only
“s” to the verb:
Play- plays
Buy- buys

Remember: The verb “have”
turns to “has” when the
subject is “he, she, it”:
I have a book.
You have a book.
We have a book.
They have a book.
He has a book.
She has a book.
It has a ball.

Time expressions:
Time expressions that come at the
beginning or the end of a sentence:
Every day, once a week, twice a
month, on Sunday, in the morning, in
January, in the winter, on the
weekend.
Every day I read the newspaper.
She visits her friends once a month.
Adverbs of frequency:
Adverbs of frequency come before
the verb in a sentence:
Always, usually, often, sometimes,
never, seldom, rarely.
She always calls me on my birthday.
He sometimes visits his relatives.
