Transcript Hardy Cacti & Succulents for Bastrop

Xeriscape Elements Tough Enough
for Bastrop’s Summers and Winters
These plants need well-drained soil. Their biggest
threat is rot, when roots sit in wet soil.
When watering, water deeply and allow soil to dry
before watering again. Light, frequent watering will
not allow the roots to develop deeply. Shallow root
systems make the plant more vulnerable to disease
and frost damage.
Winter watering is rarely necessary. Plants slow
down in winter; watering creates rot risk.
