Imagine that you have been watching the
seagulls over the time mentioned in the story.
Write an article for a nature magazine based on
what you have seen.
(Must be submitted during Tuesday’s class)
The plan for today’s class
1. Read Liam O’Flaherty’s short story “His First
Flight.”
2. What images came to mind for you while we
read the story?
3. Work in pairs. Suggest some describing words
(adjectives) for the sea, rocks and birds
mentioned.
4. Include some of these adjectives in your
homework exercise.
