Dear friends, do not be surprised at the
painful trial you are suffering, as though
something strange were happening to you.
- II Peter 4:14:

Christians are NOT immune to great
difficulties.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all
comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so
that we can comfort those in any trouble with the
comfort we ourselves have received from God. - 2
Corinthians 1:3-4
愿颂赞归与我们的主耶稣基督的父神，
就 是 发 慈 悲 的 父 ， 赐 各 样 安 慰 的 神 。我
们在一切患难中，他就安慰我们，叫我
们能用神所赐的安慰去安慰那遭各样患
难的人。
God comforts us through other Christians too.
For when we came into Macedonia, this body of
ours had no rest, but we were harassed at every
turn--conflicts on the outside, fears within. But
God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by
the coming of Titus - 2 Corinthians 7:5-6
我们从前就是到了马其顿的时候，
身体也不得安宁，周围遭患难，外
有 争 战 ， 内 有 惧 怕 。但 那 安 慰 丧 气
之人的神藉着提多来安慰了我们
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you
face trials of many kinds, because you know that
the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
Perseverance must finish its work so that you may
be mature and complete, not lacking anything. –
James 1:2-4
我的弟兄们，你们落在百般试炼中，都
要 以 为 大 喜 乐 ；因 为 知 道 你 们 的 信 心 经
过 试 验 ， 就 生 忍 耐 。但 忍 耐 也 当 成 功 ，
使你们成全、完备，毫无缺欠。
Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is
destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal
house in heaven, not built by human hands.
Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with
our heavenly dwelling – 2 Corinthians 5:1-2
我们原知道，我们这地上的帐棚若拆
毁了，必得神所造，不是人手所造，
在 天 上 永 存 的 房 屋 。我 们 在 这 帐 棚 里
叹息，深想得那从天上来的房屋，好
像穿上衣服
With Christ:
Life is hard
But you can get comfort
from God
And life’s hardness can
make you a better, more
joyful person
And then you die
And you get to enjoy God
and fullness forever
Have trusted your life with Christ?
Keep cultivating your relationship with
Christ.
Don’t expect to avoid all big difficulties, but
expect comfort and improvement as you rely
on Christ.
Not convinced God is real?
Why not explore?
So much is at stake—for this life and after
death.
Believe God and Christ are real, but have
not trusted your life with them yet?
Why not take that step of faith?
I don’t know anyone who has regretted this.
