• What are the two events?
One has taken place
already…
– A. The birth in mortality, ministry,
atonement, death, and resurrection
from the dead of Jesus Christ…the only
begotten in the flesh, the Son of
Elohim, the Father.
– In all the worlds, in all the galaxies, in
all the heavens …they all prophesied,
The second event, is about to happen
• It too will have an effect throughout
the billions of galaxies. It too has
been prophesied about …and the
inhabitants of a billion worlds, along
with every prophet of this world
since the time of Adam have been
anxiously waiting for this next great
event to take place. It is the
establishment of
THE GREAT DICHOTOMY:
And thou hast taken Zion to
thine own bosom, from all
thy creations, from all
eternity to all eternity;

And righteousness will I send down out of heaven; and truth will I
send forth out of the earth, to bear testimony of mine Only
Begotten; his resurrection from the dead; yea, and also the
resurrection of all men; and righteousness and truth will I cause
to sweep the earth as with a flood, to gather out mine elect from
the four quarters of the earth, unto a place which I shall
prepare, an Holy City, that my people may gird up their loins,
and be looking forth for the time of my coming; for there shall
be my tabernacle, and it shall be called Zion, a New
Jerusalem.
And the Lord said unto Enoch: Then shalt thou and all thy city
meet them there, and we will receive them into our bosom, and
they shall see us; and we will fall upon their necks, and they
shall fall upon our necks, and we will kiss each other;
And there shall be mine abode, and it shall be Zion, which
shall come forth out of all the creations which I have made;
and for the space of a thousand years the earth shall rest.

old; but it should be built up again, and become a

this land, unto the remnant of the seed of Joseph,

How Important
is the establishing
of ZION
in the Last Days?
"The building up of Zion is a cause
that has interested the people of
God in every age; it is a theme
upon which prophets, priests and
kings have dwelt with peculiar
delight; they have looked forward
with joyful anticipation to the day
in which we live; and fired with
heavenly and joyful anticipations
they have sung and written and
prophesied of this our day;

"Adam…Seth, Enos, Jared, Cainan, Mahaleel,
Enoch, and Methusaleh. All these men
received this high and holy priesthood. They
all professed to give revelation. They all had

the latter days. And when we say this of
them we say it of every apostle and prophet
who ever lived upon the earth."

restored; and the city Zion, or New Jerusalem,
which is to be built by the seed of Joseph on this
the American continent.“

City of Enoch:
• "It would appear that the translated residents of
Enoch's city are under the direction of Jesus, who is
the Creator of worlds; and that he, holding the keys of
the government of other worlds could, in his
administrations to them, select the translated people
of Enoch's Zion, if he thought proper, to perform a
mission to these various planets, and as death had
not passed upon them, they could be prepared by
him and made use of through the medium of the holy
priesthood to act as ambassadors, teachers, or
messengers to those worlds over which Jesus holds
the authority."

City of Old Jerusalem:
"From this definite account of driving the "nations apart, when the ancient hills did
bow," all reflecting minds may judge that man was scattered over the whole face
of the earth: And with the superior knowledge of men like Noah, Shem, (who
was Melchisedec) and Abram, the father of the faithful, three contemporaries,
holding the keys of the highest order of the priesthood:" John Taylor, Times and

Also, in D&C 138, when delineating the great prophets of old, between Noah and
Abraham, Shem is called the great high priest. In every other instance where this
is done, Melchizedek is listed as the great high priest, again bolstering the point
that they were the same person.

THE PAST/FUTURE
• City of Enoch is gone, but will return, be joined with New
Jerusalem and return to earth.
• Though special and holy places, both JERUSALEM and
NEW JERUSALEM will be deserted and left desolate for a
number of years.
• In the Latter Days, after the restoration of the Gospel and
Priesthood to the earth, and the re-establishment of the
Church of Jesus Christ... both cities will begin to be
established.
• This will consist of both a physical gathering and a
spiritual gathering. (There are 4 types of gathering)

PHYSICAL GATHERING
 In Last days…People will be physically gathered. Jews
to Old Jerusalem, Ephraim, Manassah(the majority),
and Adopted Gentiles to the New Jerusalem.
 During this process of Gathering…Old Jerusalem and
New Jerusalem will both be cleansed of wickedness,
(including hypocrites), and purified
 (Isaiah, especially Chapters 3 & 4, Revelation of John,
Doctrine & Covenants, numerous prophecies give
details on this)
Future
New Jerusalem will be cleansed first
13 month war/Earthquake/Flood.
WATER/WASHING
Old Jerusalem will be cleansed last
Armageddon war/Earthquake/Great
Hailstorm of fire)
FIRE/BURNING
• 2 In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious;
the fruit of the earth excellent and comely to them that are
escaped of Israel.

3 And it shall come to pass, they that are left in Zion and remain
in Jerusalem shall be called holy, every one that is written among
the living in Jerusalem—
•
4 When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the
daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem
from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit
of burning.

5 And the Lord will create upon every dwelling-place of mount
Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the
shining of a flaming fire by night; for upon all the glory of Zion
shall be a defence.

6 And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime
from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and a covert from storm
and from rain.
Future
• The Holy City of New Jerusalem will be
started BEFORE the full cleansing of Old
Jerusalem will be finished.
• During the Armageddon War, the call will go
out to the world to gather to New Jerusalem
if they want peace and safety. ”Go ye forth of
Babylon, flee…” They will come singing the
songs of Zion.
Future
• Ephraim will be located in two locations,
Utah and Independence, Missouri and
will grow together and eventually
become a city of 1500 square miles.
• At the destruction of the Earth by Fire,
the righteous dead will come forth, New
Jerusalem will be raised up from the
earth (the rapture), and meet with the
City of Enoch in the heavens.
Wheat & Tares
Therefore, I must gather together my people,
according to the parable of the wheat and the
tares, that the wheat may be secured in the
garners to possess eternal life, and be
crowned with celestial glory, when I shall
come in the kingdom of my Father to reward
every man according as his work shall be;
While the tares shall be bound in bundles,
and their bands made strong, that they may
be burned with unquenchable fire.

"And it shall be called the New Jerusalem, a land of peace, a city of refuge, a
place of safety for the saints of the Most High God;
"And the glory of the Lord shall be there, and the terror of the Lord also shall
be there, insomuch that the wicked will not come unto it, and it shall be
called Zion.
"And it shall come to pass among the wicked, that every man that will not
take his sword against his neighbor must needs flee unto Zion for safety.
"And there shall be gathered unto it out of every nation under heaven; and
it shall be the only people that shall not be at war one with another.
"And it shall be said among the wicked: Let us not go up to battle against
Zion, for the inhabitants of Zion are terrible; wherefore we cannot stand.
"And it shall come to pass that the righteous shall be gathered out from
among all nations, and shall come to Zion, singing with songs of
everlasting joy."

ESTABLISHING ZION
Note that the people FIRST became
a zion type people… and then they
built the city of Zion.
• And the Lord called his people ZION, because they
were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in
righteousness; and there was no poor among them.
• And Enoch continued his preaching in righteousness
unto the people of God. And it came to pass in his
days, that he built a city that was called the City of
Holiness, even ZION.

THE 3 PRINCIPLES

2 Behold, I say unto you, were it not for the transgressions of my
people, speaking concerning the church and not individuals, they
might have been redeemed even now.
3 But behold, they have not learned to be obedient to the things
which I required at their hands, but are full of all manner of evil,
and do not impart of their substance, as becometh saints, to the
poor and afflicted among tm;
4 And are not united according to the union required by the law of
the celestial kingdom;
5 And Zion cannot be built up unless it is by the principles of the law
of the celestial kingdom; otherwise I cannot receive her unto
myself.
6 And my people must needs be chastened until they learn
obedience, if it must needs be, by the things which they suffer.

CONSECRETION
• STEP 1: First Consecration

• the full Law of Consecration/United Order/ Order
of Enoch has never been practiced since the time
it was discontinued in 1838. In Section 105, the
Lord indicates that the law of consecration will
not be practiced in its entirety until Zion is
redeemed. This is inferred from D&C 105:34:
• "And let those commandments which I have
given concerning Zion and her law be executed
and fulfilled, after her redemption."
• "This is a simple outline of how things will
exist with regard to some of these matters,
when the law of God shall be fully carried out.
Our relations with the world, and our own
imperfections prevent the establishment of
this system at the present time, and therefore,
as was stated by Joseph in an early day, it can
not yet be carried out."1

We Must Pass Through Trials
to establish Zion:
•
"All intelligent beings who are crowned with crowns of glory,
immortality, and eternal lives must pass through every ordeal
appointed for intelligent beings to pass through, to gain their glory
and exaltation. Every calamity that can come upon mortal beings
will be suffered to come upon the few, to prepare them to enjoy the
presence of the Lord. If we obtain the glory that Abraham obtained,
we must do so by the same means that he did. If we are ever
prepared to enjoy the society of Enoch, Noah, Melchizedek,
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, or of their faithful children, and of the
faithful Prophets and Apostles, we must pass through the same
experience, and gain the knowledge, intelligence, and endowments
that will prepare us to enter into the celestial kingdom of our Father
and God. How many of the Latter-day Saints will endure all these
things, and be prepared to enjoy the presence of the Father and the
Son? You can answer that question at your leisure. Every trial and
experience you have passed through is necessary for your
salvation."

The TRIP BACK
• And righteousness and truth will I cause to
sweep the earth as with a flood, to gather
out mine elect from the four quarters of the

The TRIP BACK
• "....When God leads the people back to Jackson County, how will
he do it? Let me picture to you how some of us may be gathered
and led to Jackson County. I think I see two or three hundred
thousand people wending their way across the great plain,
enduring the nameless hardships of the journey, herding and
guarding their cattle by day and by night, and defending
themselves and little ones from foes on the right hand and on the
left, as when they came here.
"Now, mark it. And though you may be led by the power of God
"with a stretched-out arm," it will not be more manifest than the
leading the people out here to those that participate in it. They
will think there are a great many hardships to endure in this
manifestation of the power of God, and it will be left, perhaps to
their children, to see the glory of our former deliverance, from the
hands of those that sought to destroy us……When it is written in
history--as it will be written --it will be shown forth to future
generations as one of the most marvelous, unexampled and
unprecedented accomplishments that has ever been known to
history." 1

The GLORY of ZION
"And the glory of the Lord shall be there, and
the terror of the Lord also shall be there,
insomuch that the wicked will not come unto
it, and it shall be called Zion.
"My people must be tried in all things, that
they may be prepared to receive the glory
that I have for them, even the glory of Zion;
and he that will not bear chastisement is not
worthy of my kingdom.
"And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold like
unto clear glass.
"And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of
precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the
third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
"The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth,
beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth;
the twelfth, an amethyst.
"And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl:
and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
"And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the
temple of it.
"And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for
the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof
"And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the
kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
"And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night
there.
"And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
"And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither
whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are

eternal perfections, whose towers glittered with a radiance
emanating from the sparkling of emeralds, rubies, diamonds, and
other precious stones set in a canopy of gold and so elaborately
and skillfully arranged as to shed forth a brilliancy which dazzled
and enchanted the eye, excited admiration and developed a taste
for the beautiful, beyond anything man had ever conceived.
• "Fountains of crystal water shot upward their transparent jets
which in the brilliant sunshine, formed ten thousand rainbow tints
at once delightful to the eye. Gardens, the perfections of whose
arrangement confound all our present attempts at genius, were
bedecked with flowers of varied hue to develop and refine the
taste, and strengthen a love for these nature's chastest
endowments. Schools and universities were erected, to which all
had access; in the latter Urims were placed, for the study of the
past, present, and future, and for obtaining a knowledge of
heavenly bodies, and of the construction of worlds and universes.

The RESTORATION
OF ALL THINGS
• "We believe in the literal gathering of Israel
and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that
Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon
the American continent; that Christ will reign
personally upon the earth; and, that the earth
will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal
glory."
"The earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in
the day of his fierce anger. And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep
that no man taketh up." Also Isaiah 62:4: "Thou shalt no more be termed
Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate; but thou shalt
be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee, and
thy land shall be married.“
"In the first instance, we have the earth on a move like a chased roe and in the
second place, we have it married. And from the whole, and various scriptures,
we learn, that the continents and islands shall be united in one, as they were
on the morn of creation, and the sea shall retire and assemble in its own
place, where it was before; and all these scenes shall take place during the
mighty convulsion of nature, about the time of the coming of the Lord.
"Having restored the earth to the same glorious state in which it first existed—
leveling the mountains, exalting the valleys, smoothing the rough places,
making the deserts fruitful, and bringing all the continents, and islands
together, causing the curse to be taken off, that noxious weeds and thorns,
and thistles shall no longer be produced; the next thing is to regulate and
restore the brute creation to their former state of peace and glory, causing
enmity to cease from off the earth. But this will never be done until there is a
general destruction poured out upon man, which will entirely cleanse the
earth, and sweep all wickedness from its face

• The stars which will fall to the earth, are fragments, which have
been broken off from the earth from time to time, in the mighty
convulsions of nature. Some in the days of Enoch, some perhaps in
the days of Peleg, some with the ten tribes, and some at the
crucifixion of the Messiah. These all must be restored again at the
"times of restitution of all things." This will restore the ten tribes of
Israel; and also bring again Zion, even Enoch's city. It will bring back
the tree of life which is in the midst of the paradise of God; that
you and I may partake of it. When these fragments, (some of which
are vastly larger than the present earth) are brought back and
joined to this earth, it will cause a convulsion of all nature; the
graves of the Saints will be opened, and rise from the dead; while
the mountains will flow down, the vallies rise, the sea retire to its
own place, the islands and continents will be removed, and earth
be rolled together as a scroll. The earth will be many times larger
than it is now. "If I have told you of earthly things and ye believe
not; what would you think if you were to be told of heavenly
things?"
