Conclusion
• Industrial robotics: 2011 most successful year ever, however only small
growth (~2.3%) in EU expected in standard applications.
• New trends create additional opportunities of using industrial robots.
• Service robots on the rise in 2011 (and beyond): 4.56bn (professional
SR, +9.2%) + 0.64bn (domestic SR, +14.6%)  US$5.2bn sales (IR: 8.5).
• Professional service robotics:
– Strong European position
– Strong components base enabling professional service robots
designs
– However, extensive SW-costs constitute a major risk in SR
development
• Domestic service robots: still relatively weak EU position.
