PRODUCT ANALYSIS DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY You can help your child by… Discussing with them the following questions – Who would use this product? Why has it been designed in a particular way? Why have the materials been selected? How does the product function (work)? DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY PRODUCT ANALYSIS Aesthetics, what does the product look like? When designing any new product it is important to understand existing products that are in the market place. Using the example provided below try to complete the Product Analysis. Material, what is the product made from? ACCESS FM Cost, how much does the product cost? Customer, who would buy or use the product? Function, what is the product designed to do? Environment, where would the product be used? Size, how big or small is the product? Safety, are there any risks during normal use? DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY PRODUCT ANALYSIS How successful were you?
