My Trip to Uranus
by Kyle and McKenzie
Do you want to know how far Uranus is from
Earth? It is one billion, 700 million miles.
The temperature on Uranus is -300°. That is
cold.
A day on our planet is 17 1/4 hours. That’s
shorter than Earth’s day.
I would not like to go to Uranus because it
would be 84 Earth years make 1 year on
Earth.
Uranus has 15 moons the largest is Titania.
If I weighed 100 pounds on Earth I would
weigh 93 pounds on Uranus.
Uranus has poisonous gases and clouds too!
Gravity seems to be pulling Uranus in space.
Neptune seems to be tugging at Uranus too!
Uranus has 11 rings. They’re made of ice and
dust.
My Trip to Neptune
by Kaysia and Demi
We’re going to give you facts about Neptune.
It’s about 2,700,000,000 miles away from
Earth.
The temperature on Neptune is -360 °F. I
would wear lots of winter clothes.
A year on Neptune is 165 Earth years.
There are 8 moons. If you weighed 100
pounds on Earth you would weigh 123
pounds on Neptune.
It’s winds reach 600 miles per hour. It has
poisonous gases and is very cold. Triton’s
moon has an atmosphere volcano like
eruption and frozen gases.
My Trip to Pluto
by Stu and Brook
I would have to travel 2,700,000,000 miles
to get to Pluto. I would have to wear lots
of clothes because it is -395°F or -235°F.
It takes 6 Earth days to make 1 day.
A year on Pluto is 248 Earth years. It has 1
new moon. If you weighed 100 pounds on
Earth you would weigh just a few pounds on
Pluto.
It has icebergs. Did you know there are
frozen gases? It is also very cold. It is the
darkest planet.
It is hard to see with a telescope. The inside
is called a core. Did you know in 2226 Pluto
crosses Neptune’s orbit?
My Trip to Saturn
by AJ and Devin
Saturn is 744 million miles from Earth. The
temperature is -300°F. We would bring a
space suit.
Saturn has 23 Moons.
If you weighed 100 pounds on Earth I would
weigh 116 pounds on Saturn.
We have never stepped on Saturn.
The winds on Saturn blow 1,000 miles per
hour.
Saturn’s rings are made of ice. Saturn has
10,000 rings.
Saturn is the 2 biggest plant.
On Saturn a day is 10 hours and 39 minutes.
A year is 29 and half Earth years.
My Trip to Mars
by Jenna and Bryce
Mars is about 35 million miles from Earth.
The hottest temperature is 60°f.
Their day is also longer than ours. It’s 37
hours longer.
Even our planet Mars, has a year, but it feels
like 12 Earth years.
If we went to Mars we would weigh 38
pounds.
The average distance from Mars to the sun is
142 million miles.
The dioxide with small amounts of other
gases is what you breathe.
In Mars the lowest temperature is about 220°F.
My Trip to Mercury
by Mackenzie and Michael
We would have to travel 57 million miles
from Earth to get to Mercury.
The temperature on Mercury would be 750
degrees F and at night Mercury would be
300 degrees F.
Mercury’s day would be 59 Earth days and a
year 88 Earth days. Mercury has no Moons.
If I weighed 100 pounds on Earth I would
weigh 37 pounds on Mercury.
Mercury is hard to see from Earth. Mercury
appears to change its shape. Astronomers
have questions about Mercury.
Mercury is made mostly of iron. Mercury and
the Moon both have many craters.
Our Trip to the Moon
by Joey, Michaela, Seth
The moon is 239,000 miles from Earth.
The temperature on the moon when the sun is
out is 265°F. When the sun sets it is -310° F.
The moon has two weeks of day time and two
weeks of dark time.
If I weighed 60 pounds on Earth I would
weigh 10 pounds on the moon.
I learned that the moon has craters, is made of
rocks , mountains, hills, and flat lands.
The moon has 28 phases. Some of the phases
are: new moon, crescent moon, half moon, and
full moon.
Neil Armstrong made the first step on the moon
in 1969.
The USA has the first flag on the moon. It has
a wire in it because there is no air or wind in
space.
The astronauts used a moon buggy to get rocks.
My Trip to Jupiter
By Rebecca and Sierra
We are going to give you some facts about
Jupiter. It is about 390 million miles from
Earth to Jupiter. The temperature on
Jupiter is -235°F.
A day is a little under 10 hours. There is
about 12 Earth years. There is at least 16
moons on Jupiter.
You would weigh 264 pounds on Jupiter.
Jupiter has poisonous gases. Jupiter is
the 2nd brightest.
Jupiter is yellow and white in color. You can
not stand on Jupiter. Jupiter is made of
liquids and gases. The clouds make it look
like it has strips.
It forms bands of color. Jupiter moves
opposite of Earth. All of the planets can fit
in Jupiter. You can put 1, 400 Earths in
Jupiter.
Jupiter has many storms. 1 storm is called
the Big Red Spot. Jupiter is 2 times bigger
than Earth.
On Jupiter there is more moons than any
other planet. Now we are done with
Jupiter.
My Trip to Venus
by Emma and David
Did you know that Venus is 25 million miles
away from Earth?
On Venus it is 850 degrees.
On Venus a year is 225 days.
Venus has are no moons.
If I weigh 100 pounds on Earth than I will
weigh 89 pounds on Venus.
The speed of Venus’s orbit is 22 miles per
second.
There are canyons on Venus.
There are long valleys that drop 15,000 feet
below the surface.
They call Earth Venus’s sister.
We hope you enjoyed our trips in space.
