• May 5, 2008 Irrigated with one inch of water.
• May 7, 2008 Sprayed four quarts Glyphosate/

• June 2, 2008 Bottom plowed field
• June 3, 2008 applied 1 ton of dolomitic
lime/ac

– Planted per UF-IFAS rates
– Followed planter with culti-packer
– Finished at 4:45pm, started raining at 5pm (1/4
inch)

The Future?
• Objective: To determine the effect of potassium source and
supplemental sulfur on yields and rhizobial activity of perennial
peanut on deep sands.
Treatments:
Control: no potassium applied over the entire trial.
KCl 1x- Potassium chloride applied at the recommended rate in a
single spring application
KCl 2X- KCl applied at recommended rate in split applicationsgreenup and following first harvest
K2SO4- 1X- applied to supply the same amount of potassium as
above in a single application with potassium sulfate
K2SO4- 2X- applied to supply the same amount of potassium as
above in a split application with potassium sulfate
KCl 2X+ S - KCl with sulfur added at a rate to match potassium
sulfate appl. In split application
