How to change the classroom
S Adding in collaborative technologies to expand the
classroom experience.
S IASC deployed 3 Cisco TelePresence rooms in phase 1
S Teaching Ojibwa and Spanish over TelePresence
Why Cisco TelePresence?
S TelePresence was chosen for its “lifelike” video capabilities
S Allows for seamless interaction between teacher and student
S Ability to teach over great distances while still keeping the
students are teacher engaged
What did Phase 1 Look like?
S 3 Cisco TelePresence 3210 Rooms (18 seat rooms)
S Cisco Communications Manager
S TelePresence Multipoint Switch
TelePresence Project
S Each Cisco TelePresence room arrives on 14 separate pallets
totaling roughly 3000 pounds
S Each room takes roughly 5 days and 2 engineers to assemble
S Building considerations (Power, HVAC, Logistics)
These turn into……
More than hardware and……
So much more than a room!!
Changing teaching & learning!
