Coach’s Comments: The 4-A Midwest Regional was held at Forest Oaks CC. RJ
Reynolds won the Regional with a team score of 295, Greensboro Page finished 2nd with
a 306 and Reagan finished 3rd with a 307. Mount Tabor also shot 307, but Reagan’s fifth
card was better. Davie did not qualify for the team competition, but two individuals did
qualify for the Regional event. Wesley Sink shot a 72 and claimed the runner-up
medalist for the day and Colby Carter shot 79.
Special Notes:
- The top 3 teams qualified for the 4-A State Competition which will be
held at Pinehurst #2 (5/11) and Pinehurst #4 (5/12) this year. As seen in
the above team scores, our conference is a very tough conference.
- The top 3 individual scores that weren’t on a qualifying team made it to
the State competition as individuals. Wesley Sink claimed one of these 3
spots and will continue his season next week in Pinehurst.
Congratulations to
Avery Williford and George Mitchell
For qualifying for the State 4A Track and Field
Championship next Saturday at A&T University! Avery
qualified in both the 110 meter and 300 meter
hurdles, and George qualified in the triple jump.
