• The Colorado River rises in the Rocky Mountains and flows into Utah and down into Arizona until it gets to the Gulf of California.

The Rocky Mountains are run through many parts of the U.S. and Canada The states the Rocky Mountains are in include Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Washington, and Alaska. In Canada the Rockies go through Alberta and British Columbia. The Rocky Mountains are the biggest mountain range in North America.

The Sierra Nevada is a huge mountain range in California. It is about 400 miles long. Its width is somewhere between 40 and 70 miles. This mountain range has many peaks that rise more than 14,000 feet high.
