The Practice is celebrating its
25th Anniversary in
May 2014
Please take some time to look at our
displays in the waiting room which show
how things have changed over the last 25
years.

The Practice opened on the 2nd of May 1989
The Partners were

Dr John Scott
Dr David Gordon-Brown

The staff consisted of
3 GP Partners
1 Practice Manager
1 Secretary
3 part time Receptionists
2 part time Nurses
And 2 part time cleaners

We now have
5 GP Partners and 2 salaried GPs
1 Practice Manager, 1 Business Manager and a Financial
Assistant
2 Secretaries
8 part time Receptionists
4 part time Data Administrators
1 Nurse Practitioner
4 part time Nurses and 2 part time HCAs
5 part time Dispensers &
4 part time cleaners!
An increase from 12 to 40 members of staff…..

The Practice was purpose built for 4 doctors and
ancillary staff
The building has been extended twice and we
have no spare space…
Originally there were 3 male Doctors and no
female Doctors
We now have 4 female Doctors and 3 male
Doctors

6500 patients moved from Stowmarket
Health Centre and an additional 600
patients joined the practice in the first 2
months.
We now have approximately 10000
patients

The Practice staff would like to thank all
those who have sent in donations over the
years – from individuals to groups or in
memory of a friend or relative
These donations have helped benefit the
patients who attend Combs Ford Surgery

In the past we have purchased pieces of
equipment such as syringe drivers for
terminally ill patients at home and some
legacies have enabled us to make
alterations to the building
We are now saving towards a waiting
room freestanding blood pressure recorder
which costs £1350

After setting up the Practice 25 years ago,
Dr Wankowski will be retiring in the
summer.
Patients currently registered with Dr
Wankowski will be advised of their new GP
in August.

It is understandable that some patients
may wish to change to an existing Partner
but regretfully there will be no opportunity
to transfer at this time due to existing
workloads.

Please make sure you have adequate
medication for the Bank Holiday
weekends.
