10Then the disciples went away again unto their own
home.
11But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and
as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the
sepulchre, 12And seeth two angels in white sitting, the
one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the
body of Jesus had lain. 13And they say unto her,
Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them,
Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not
where they have laid him.

14And when she had thus said, she turned
herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and
knew not that it was Jesus. 15Jesus saith unto
her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest
thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener,
saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him
hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I
will take him away. 16Jesus saith unto her,
Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him,
Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

17Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am
not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my
brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my
Father, and your Father; and to my God, and
your God. 18Mary Magdalene came and told
the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and
that he had spoken these things unto her.
They did not believe
2 of Them walking with Jesus!


12 After that he appeared in another form
unto two of them, as they walked, and went
into the country.
13 And they went and told it unto the
residue: neither believed they them.

The Unbelieving Thomas

19Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the
week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were
assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the
midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 20And when
he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side.
Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
21Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my
Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22And when he
had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them,
Receive ye the Holy Ghost: 23Whose soever sins ye remit,
they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye
retain, they are retained.

24But Thomas, one of the twelve, called
Didymus, was not with them when
Jesus came. 25The other disciples
therefore said unto him, We have seen the
Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall
see in his hands the print of the nails, and
put my finger into the print of the nails, and
thrust my hand into his side, I will not
believe.

26And after eight days again his disciples were
within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus,
the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and
said, Peace be unto you. 27Then saith he to
Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my
hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it
into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28And Thomas answered and said unto him, My
Lord and my God. 29Jesus saith unto him,
Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast
believed: blessed are they that have not seen,
and yet have believed.

The Purpose of John's Book
30And many other signs truly did Jesus in
the presence of his disciples, which are not
written in this book: 31But these are
written, that ye might believe that Jesus is
the Christ, the Son of God; and that
believing ye might have life through his
name.
..that YOU might believe



John 20:14-20 And when she had thus
said, she turned herself back, and saw
Jesus!. MARY BELIEVED!
Belief in Jesus’ Resurrection
was a problem to many of his
disciples



They didn’t believe Mary!
They didn’t believe the two walking!
And one Thomas didn’t believe it for 8
days!
The Apostles, at first
did not believe he was risen!




Mary KNEW Jesus was raised up from the dead. She went
and told the disciples..
Yet, the Bible says…they did not believe her.
9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week,
he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had
cast seven devils.
10 And she went and told them that had been with him,
as
they mourned and wept.

11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had
been seen of her,
believed not.
DID NOT BELIEVE
Mary Magdalene!


Mark 16:11 When the disciples heard that
Jesus was alive, and that she had seen
him, they did not believe it!
Mark 16:13 The two as they walked
,Jesus appeared to them and they went
told his disciples (the residue) neither
believed they them
Thomas DID NOT BELIEVE!




1. Where was Thomas that he was not
with the other 10?
2. For 8 days after Jesus was raised from
the dead, despite his disciples telling him,
He still did not believe that Jesus was
raised up from the dead!
3. Yet, at first, the others did not believe!
The 11 are Rebuked by Jesus
because of their ‘unbelief’


Mark 16:13 These returned and reported it
to the rest; but they did not believe them
either!.
Mark 16:14 Afterward he appeared unto
the eleven as they sat at meat, and
upbraided (rebuked) them with their
unbelief and hardness of heart, because
they believed not them which had seen
him after he was risen.
JESUS PROVED MANY TIMES
THAT HE WAS THE CHRIST…



…
John 21:7
Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved
saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when
Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he
girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was
naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
Yet even the apostles did not believe
He had Risen!!

Mark 16: 11 And they, when they had
heard that he was alive, and had been
seen of her, believed not.
Luke 24:32-40




32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart
burn within us, while he talked with us by the way,
and while he opened to us the scriptures?
33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned
to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered
together, and them that were with them,
34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath
appeared to Simon.
35 And they told what things were done in the
way, and how he was known of them in breaking
of bread.





36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst
of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that
they had seen a spirit.
38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do
thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle
me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see
me have.
40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands
and his feet.
Acts 5:30-32



30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus,
whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be
a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to
Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and
so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given
to them that obey him.
Acts 10:40-41


40 Him God raised up the third day, and
shewed him openly;
41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses
chosen before God, even to us, who did eat
and drink with him after he rose from the
dead.
I Cor. 15:5-8




5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the
twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred
brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain
unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the
apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one
born out of due time.
Heb. 3:12

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any
of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing
from the living God.
Heb. 4:1-2


4 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left
us of entering into his rest, any of you should
seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as
unto them: but the word preached did not profit
them, not being mixed with faith in them that
heard it.
Heb. 10:38,39
 Hebrews
10:38,39 Now the just
shall
 Live by faith: but if any man draw
back,
 My soul shall have no pleasure in
him.
Do you believe?






Do you mothers believe?
Do you fathers believe?
Do you preachers believe?
Do you elders believe?
Do you deacons believe?
Do you really believe that Jesus is the Christ the
Son of God…a profession we make when we are
baptized into Christ! Acts 8:37,38
If we say “We Believe”
how do we demonstrate that faith?





1. Go and tell others…lead
others to the ‘Lamb of God’ that taketh
away the sins of the world!
John 1:29;
I John 1:9-10;
I John 2:1-2.
If you believe that Jesus died and rose
from the dead, go tell others!!
2. Lord, I believe,
Assemble to truly worship..









John 4:23,24; YOU WILL TRULY WORSHIP!!
..you will not forsake a single service …
Heb. 10:23-25.
..you will be glad to come to worship.
Psalms 122:1 I was glad
..You will meet with the saints of God
To show God and the world that ‘this do,
In remembrance of Me”. And you’ll do it.
You won’t have to be begged, you wont have to be called,
you won’t have to reminded… you will be here!
Lord, I believe








3. Your attitude toward others will
be WWJD!.
a)When someone hurts you, robs you,
demean you, what will you do? WWJD?
b) When you are hurt, deeply hurt, by
Something someone says about you,
WWJD?
c) When your enemies despise you…
WWJD. Matt. 5:44,45!
4. You will quit sinning!







You hurt Jesus everytime you sin.
a)When you curse, and use the name of the
Lord in vain…you hurt the Lord!
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain!
Psalm 111:9
b)When you commit adultery, fornication, sexual
immorality, You hurt Jesus…I Cor. 6:18 Flee
fornication. Joseph Gen. 39:9
c)When you gossip…you hurt Jesus.
Matt. 12:36,37 By thy words!! I Tim. 5:13
5. You will be thankful!






When you fail to be thankful…you hurt
Jesus.
a)The Book of God is filled with
exhortation for us to give thanks to God.
b)When we murmur and complain, what
does God hear…we hurt Jesus.
O give thanks unto the Lord, for
He is good! Col. 3:15 ‘and be ye thankful’
Do you believe? Do you
have faith? What kind?
1. Abraham: Strong in faith…are
you?

Abraham had some anxious moments. But
God did not count these against him. The
Bible declares, Abraham staggered not at
the promise of God through unbelief; but
was strong in faith (Rom 4:20).
2 .Great faith: The Centurion

There was this centurion who came to the Lord
Jesus with a request for his servant who was lying
at home, paralyzed, dreadfully tormented. Jesus
said to him that He would come and heal him. But
the centurion said, 'speak a word and my servant
will be healed'. Jesus marveled and said,
'Assuredly, I say to you, "I have not found such
great faith, not even in Israel! " (Matt 8:8-10)
3. Sincere faith: Exhortation by
Paul

Paul writes, 'the purpose of the
commandment is love from a pure heat,
from a good conscience, and from sincere
faith" (1Tim 1:5).
4. Perfect faith: James tells us how.

Faith should work together with works, and
by works, faith was made perfect (James
2:22). Over the period of years, God looks
at our sincerity and entrusts us with greater
responsibility. He, who is faithful in little,
much is entrusted. This is how our God
works. When we are sincere in the little
things, heaven gets our attention.
May
the Lord take us
to greater heights in
"faith"
Thomas said he would not
believe unless he









Saw Him…the Real Jesus…the Jesus that
He saw have nails put in his hands,
The Jesus whose feet were nailed,
The Jesus whose side was riven and
Blood of the Son of God was poured out!.
What did Jesus say to Thomas after
Thomas confessed it was Jesus risen!
Blessed are those who have not seen,
But believe.
Can we sing
Lord, I Believe!








Do you believe?
How much do you believe?
How close are you to Jesus?
What are you doing for Him to show that
You believe in Him?
Are you like Thomas? Unless I see…
You will see Him…He is coming again,
But before He comes….
He is telling us all
