Soccer Notes

Goal - a point scored when the ball passes
between the goal posts
 Dribbling - when you keep control of the ball
while running, by tapping, dragging, or rolling it in
front of the body.
 Penalty kick -when a foul is called inside the penalty
box, the offense is awarded a kick from the penalty
spot
 Handball - illegal action of touching the ball with
an arm or hand



Strike - legal contact with the ball
Nutmeg - a pass that goes between the
opponent’s legs
The field includes the lines that define it

Center Circle - opposing players stand outside
this circle until the ball is kicked to initiate the
game by 2 players standing at the midfield line
 Fullback - you are the last line of defense before
the goalie
 Midfielder - you enable the transition between
fullback and forward, you are in constant motion,
defending and attacking
 Forward - you attack the opposition to create
scoring opportunities, you take most of the shots
