SURVEY MONKEY RESULTS
DO YOU THINK THE PLAYOFF SYSTEM IS FAIR?
Yes-69, No-21, Unsure-10
“The commitment to drive and attend all the clinics
and scrimmages required to make a Class 1 or 2
takes a lot of time. It tough to justify all that time
and travel for a $70 playoff game or two.”
“No. Once an official is playoff-qualified, the
selection process puts more emphasis solely on
experience/grade rather than ability.”

What are some changes you would like to
see done to IMPROVE the Triangle Soccer
Officials Association?

-”Hold a significant number of the clinics were
the vast majority of your Officials are.”
Response: We are all in this together. Thus
the reason we are meeting in Wilson and
Chapel Hill this spring.

SURVEY MONKEY RESULTS
-“for games that have to travel long distances to see the
possibility of giving the referee the two games on the
same place”
------------------------------------------------------------------RESPONSE: Mark Dreibelbis, “If you expect an official to
work multiple games, give their optimal effort, be able
physically and mentally to perform at a high level of
productivity, working multiple games is an unreasonable
expectation and diminishes the overall officiating product
during the contest(s).”
SURVEY MONKEY RESULTS
-”Have observers come out to more of the actual regular
season games and assess”
-”More opportunity to receive assessment/specific feedback.
Less politics in game assignments.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------Response: I have an open policy that you can get assessed for
$50.00.
NOT ONE PERSON HAS TAKEN THIS OPPORTUNITY.
I OBSERVED 24 Games this fall. I can’t be everywhere
SURVEY MONKEY RESULTS
“I’m not sure what exactly
the Board does”
-We meet twice a year to
prepare for the upcoming
season
-During the season we
handle topics that come up
about the Association
-Per vote from our Summer
Clinic, we handle
Disciplinary Matters
SURVEY MONKEY RESULTS
“Continue to refer to I have so many College Referees
middles. Due to the fact that you are a college
Referees does not make you better than many Refs
which you have. Many Referees are happy with being a
professional and excellent Referee.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------RESPONSE: STRIVE TO BE THE BEST OFFICIAL YOU
CAN BE. THE PLAYOFFS DESERVE THE BEST
OFFICIALS! It is my job to find those officials who met
the criteria on and off the field and put them on the
game(s).
SURVEY MONKEY RESULTS
“Especially with no more double headers, I
would like to see less travel for all these single
games.”
------------------------------------------------------------RESPONSE: The average trip to a game this fall
was 23.9 miles. The average trip to a game last
spring was 24.3 miles.
