News Flash! • Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA), a Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirement, was offered for testing for the first time in collaboration with Health Story Project and Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise USA (IHE) at the IHE North American Connectathon 2013. • Eighteen vendors passed rigorous testing and made significant steps to achieve interoperability and Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements. • When implemented into Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), HL7’s C-CDA contributes a critical component of a patient’s medical record including the physician’s progress notes, discharge summaries, and other clinical documents.
