MTI Core Philosophy
• High school diploma is a by product of a Career
education.
• Post-secondary articulations in a seamless model.
• Academies are determined by analysis of local, regional,
state, and national employment needs.
• Provide training that permits students to enter the work
force at various access points.
• Direct marketing provides students/families access to
career planning.
• Embracing the 3 R’s - Rigor, Relevance, and
Relationships
• Nationally recognized industry certifications and
standards. Business drives the standard and expectation
for proficiency.
How is this different?
• 66% of Florida’s current academies result
in NO certifications.
• Business driven and product driven
– NOT process driven
• Result in marketable skills
– HS Diploma has become questionable
– National certification
• Academy driven by demand and location
– NOT what’s available (instructor, equip. etc.)
