Re-flowable eText
Goals and features
 Planned new client for the eText Platform family - late Q4
 Re-flowable, XML-based content as compared to existing
fidelity-based eText.
 Great for mobile devices
 Will take advantage of existing eText platform integration
and authentication capabilities.
 Bookshelves will be enhanced to support both traditional
and re-flowable eText starting in v4.7.
XML eText
 Non-fidelity client that can be viewed on
variety of devices
 A client that delivers content from the new
Pearson Education workflow
 Takes advantage of the substantial web
services CMS already has in place
 Co-exist with existing eText clients
XML eText
 Utilize Pearson authentication systems
– SMS, RUMBA and eCollege, etc.
 Integrated with Pearson Learning
Platforms
 Direct access via Digital Bookshelves
 XML-based, ePUB3 file format?
 Base-line ebook functionality
 Likely one of many possible clients
