Historical Overview
 Lithuanian Academy of Physical Education (LAPE)
grew out of Higher Courses in Physical Education
(HCPE) set up in Kaunas in 1934
 In 1938 HCPE were closed and its educational role
was taken by Lithuanian National Institute of
Physical Education established in 1945
 In 1999 the Institute was renamed into Lithuanian
Academy of Physical Education
 Since its foundation over 13000 students have
graduated from LAPE
