What is a

Weekly World Watch

?

The idea is simple. It is to look at current events and compare them to events spoken of in the Bible. .

I hope to build up a picture of God ’ s hand working in the affairs of this world. God is bringing about a day when all nations will be gathered to Jerusalem to battle. At that time God will send His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, back to this earth. Jesus will then establish God ’ s kingdom on earth. This kingdom will last for ever. This is our hope and the reason we watch.

The following six themes will appear repeatedly in WWW:

• Israel: The continuing conflict in the Middle East and focus on Jerusalem.

• Europe: Its developing union, both political and religious.

• Russia: Its return to anti-Western ways as Bible prophecy

No guarantees Iran will sign up to nuclear deal

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said that there were "no guarantees" that a deal on Iran's nuclear programme will be agreed, in his first comments since the interim deal was reached last week in the Swiss city of Lausanne. The Ayatollah, the most powerful figure in Iran, repeated demands that all sanctions be lifted at the same time as any final agreement on curbing Tehran's nuclear programme is concluded. "What has been achieved so far does not guarantee a deal or even that the negotiations will continue to the end," he said. In remarks apparently meant to keep his hardline loyalists on side, he warned about the "devilish" intentions of the United States. "I was never optimistic about negotiating with America. Nonetheless I agreed to the negotiations and supported, and still support, the negotiators," he added, to chants of "Death to America." Last week (with much fanfare) America announced that the framework for a deal with Iran over its nuclear program had been agreed. They said a comprehensive agreement would be signed by the deadline of 30 th June. But a framework is not a signed agreement and there is much horse trading still to take place. The Americans put out a fact sheet about the deal -the Ayatollah then said this ‘fact sheet’ was wrong on most of the issues. Iran wants all sanctions lifted day 1 and American want it phased in.

The Bible has a lot to say about Iran. The Bible refers to Iran by its ancient names last days. It says the Medes will be stirred up. That they would not be motivated by – Medes, Persia, Elam. It explains what Iran would be like and what they will do in the money. That they would create missiles that would destroy many people. It even talks about them making a treacherous deal! Iran has a major part to play in the coming war.

US 'will not stand by' as Tehran backs Yemen rebels

"Iran needs to recognise that the United States is not going to stand by while the region is destabilised or while people engage in overt warfare across lines, international boundaries in other countries.

America has suddenly shifted from positive statements about the nuclear deal to making threats against Iran. Secretary of Defence Ashton Carter said Saturday: I believe the Iranians know that and understand that.

The conflict there is getting worse by the day. Iran has sent 2 warships to the gulf of Aden opposite Yemen ’s coast. Saudi Arabia continues to bomb the rebels in Yemen. America is a close ally of Saudi Arabia and is therefore very concerned about what Iran is doing. The Bible says that at the time Iran does a treacherous deal they will go up and besiege Saudi Arabia. Palestinians want UN timetable to end ‘occupation’

The Palestinians are "ready and willing" to see if the U.N. Security Council has "the political will" to adopt a resolution with a deadline for ending Israel's occupation and establishing a Palestinian state, the Palestinian U.N. ambassador said Monday.

Ambassador Riyad Mansour told reporters that adoption of a resolution with a timetable would be "one of the most effective measures to combat extremism in our region, because extremists receive their fuel from the injustice of the Palestinian people.

” "If there is a just solution to this conflict ... in a short period of time, then you'll take away from them the main source of recruitment and mobilization," he said, adding that it would also contribute to resolving perhaps 70 percent of the "burning issues in the Middle East.

” Mansour said the United States holds the key.

The Palestinians are trying to take advantage of the strain in relations between Israel and America. Obama has said he will reassess U.S. policy toward Israel following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's comment before last month's election that he would not allow the establishment of a Palestinian state on his watch. That could be a possible sign that Washington would no longer shield Israel in the Security Council.

This gives the Palestinians (in their mind) their best chance of pushing for a state of their own. France's Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said late last month that his government would propose a council resolution in the coming weeks with a framework for negotiations toward resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. All nations it appears now want to drive forward to end what they see as Israel epicentre..

US, Russian war games rekindle Cold War tensions

Russia is so close that the F-16 fighter pilots can see it on the horizon as they swoop down over a training range in Estonia in the biggest ever show of U.S. air power in the Baltic countries. The simulated bombs release smoke on impact, but the M-61 cannon fires live ammunition, rattling the aircraft with a deafening tremor and shattering targets on the ground. The four-week drill is part of a string of non-stop exercises by U.S. land, sea and air forces in Europe — from Estonia in the north to Bulgaria in the south — scaled up since last year to reassure nervous NATO allies after Russia's military intervention in Ukraine. U.S. and Russian forces are now essentially back in a Cold War-style standoff, flexing their muscles along NATO's eastern flank.

The saber-rattling raises the spectre that either side could misinterpret a move by the other, triggering a conflict between two powers with major nuclear arsenals despite a sharp reduction from the Cold War era.

During a symbolic visit to Estonia last September, Obama said that the defence of the Baltic capitals of Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius were just as important as defending Berlin, Paris and London. Estonia whose capital is Tallinn warmly received these words back then – they only have 5,500 soldiers on active duty and with mighty Russia on their doorstep they need protection. In recent months, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have seen hundreds of U.S. armoured vehicles, tanks and helicopters arrive on their soil. Russia is angered at these war games which are taking place just 60 miles from Russia ’s border. Russia has also substantially increased its own military activity in the Baltic Sea region over the past year. It seems like everyone is preparing for war. And as the report above says – it only needs one mistake to trigger conflict… Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about:

Russia issues nuclear threat over Crimea and Baltic States

Russia has threatened to use nuclear force against the United States and its Nato allies over Crimea and the Baltic States, in a stark warning reportedly issued by Moscow's envoys to their counterparts earlier this month. At a closed-door bilateral meeting held in Germany in mid-March, the Kremlin's emissaries cautioned that any Western attempt to return Crimea to Ukraine will be met with force. Russia's nuclear posturing follows further expansion of Nato's military presence in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, where the Kremlin appears to be poised to begin destabilising actions like those it used in eastern Ukraine. Notes of the meetings seen by The Times were drawn up by a group of retired US military and intelligence officials, who met for two days with former high level members of Russia's intelligence agency, the FSB, and former Russian army generals in the town of Torgau, Saxony.

The notes mentioned in the article above make interesting reading. It said that after its annexation last year, Crimea was now part of the Russian Federation and any attempt by Nato to win it back for Ukraine would be considered a direct attack against Russia. As such, it "will be responded to forcefully, including through the use of nuclear force," the document read. "In this type of scenario, the United States should also understand it would also be at risk.

” Also despite their Nato membership, Moscow considers Baltic states no different from Ukraine, as they are home to a minority Russian ethnic population. It is hard to comprehend any nation threatening the use of nuclear weapons when they know how terrifyingly destructive they are. They truly are a weapon of mass destruction. But it is possible they will be used in the final conflict….

US 'War Games ’ mountain complex re-opens

One of America ’s most potent symbols of the Cold War is to re-open more than a decade after it was abandoned. Cheyenne Mountain, the subterranean bunker and command centre built beneath Colorado ’s Rocky Mountains, is being refurbished by the Pentagon to provide protection for America ’s modern defence systems that could be targeted by an electromagnetic pulse attack. The complex was closed in 2006 after the government deemed Russia to no longer be a threat, with NORAD, the North American Aerospace Command, moved to the nearby Peterson Air Force Base. NORAD was housed within the mountain for much of the bi-polar standoff, the organisation popular culture, most notably in the 1983 film "War Games".

Cheyenne Mountain Complex is 2,000 feet below the granite rocks and made up of 15 three-story buildings protected from nuclear blasts and seismic movement by a system of 1,000 giant springs. The entire complex is designed to withstand a direct hit by a 30 megaton nuclear explosion and has 25-ton blast doors surrounding the complex. It shut down nearly ten years ago as the threat from Russia seemed to subside, but this week the Pentagon announced that Cheyenne Mountain will once again be home to the most advanced tracking and communications equipment in the United States military.

This is costing a huge amount of money but shows that the Cold War is back with a vengeance. Everything is building up and preparing for the final judgement of the world.
