2013 Ministry Team Goals
As brothers and sisters in Christ, we will:
1. Nurture our members in their life of
discipleship and personal response to God.
2. Communicate the love of Jesus Christ to our
community and world in word and deed.
3. Immerse the members of our church family
in Kirkwood’s ministries.
4. Minister to the immediate needs and hurts of
our members and community.
5. Strive to be God’s instrument of
reconciliation, justice, and peace in our
community.
Worship Ministry Team
JoAnn Hamilton / David Christian
 “O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.” – Psalm
95:6
 Encourage the congregation of Kirkwood to further their
commitment to worship and become more engaged in
worship.
 Celebrate the groups within Kirkwood (Presbyterian
Women, Youth/Young Adults, Session, etc.) with their
participation and leadership during worship.
 Schedule special services such as a Service of Wholeness
and Healing.
 Music is an important part of worship. The Worship
Ministry will continue to support the Choir and Children’s
Choir; include special music and invite outside musicians
to participate in worship.
Fellowship Ministry Team

 Continue with creative ideas to foster the
fellowship of the congregation of Kirkwood
 Utilize “themed” dinners and activities
 Continue the bowling league
 Make the Fall Craft Show and annual event
 Upcoming Activities:
 Family Picnic
 Ice Cream Social
 Progressive Dinner
Christian Education Ministry Team

 Enhance the Christian Education in grade age children.
 Be an active part in the youth ministries, which involves
young adults, grade age children, and youth group.
 Actively establish fund raisers to raise money for Christian
Education
 Plan and date VBS for the summer of 2013
 Recruit and train Sunday School Teachers
 Plan a rotating schedule of Sunday School Teachers
 Attend trainings to help enrich learning
 Plan “field trips” for Sunday school participants
Mission & Outreach Ministry Team

 Bring back monthly “Minute For Mission”
presentation during worship
 Lead the congregation to quarterly mission
activities
 Create opportunities for all of Kirkwood to
serve in local services and activities
 Create relationships with local needs based
organizations to partner with
 Work with all ministry teams to identify new
opportunities to serve the community
Building & Grounds Ministry Team

To work with and assist, in all Kirkwood Prebyterian Church Ministry
Team activities and employ accountability measures where needed.
 Assist the Pastor concerning all Church matters and duties.
 Oversee and assist the Finance Committee in maintaining the
financial stability of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church.
 Oversee the Church Staff members and any issues involving the daily
operations of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church.
 Maintain a solid bridge between our community Boy Scout
Troop/Pack and the members of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church as
Administrative Liaison.
 Assure that all administrative manuals and governances set by the
Presbytery are up to date, adhered to and practiced at Kirkwood
Presbyterian Church.
Member Care Ministry Team
Anna Hadrava / Sandra Harlan
 Complete a new directory - Anna will do along with
Mia. Others on team will also proofread before
printing.
 Make sure prayer requests are updated in a timely
manner
 Follow up with members who are absent to see if they
would like communion or have other needs/concerns.
 Start a Nehemiah Ministry - Bill Fonferek is already
working out details.
 Continue sending cards for birthdays, illnesses,
sympathy, etc. Build new teams to assist with this.

Pastoral Goals For 2013
 Ensure that we are more intentional in our worship
 Ensure that all groups in our congregation are
represented in worship
 Strive to create an atmosphere of spiritual growth
 Take our work and worship beyond the walls of the
church into the community
 Preach regularly about stewardship, not just a few
weeks a year
 Work to grow small group studies to involve everyone
 Listen to all and learn from everyone
