THE FORT
Nehemiah
Nehemiah 1:2-4
2 that Hanani one of my brethren came with men from
Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews who had
escaped, who had survived the captivity, and concerning
Jerusalem. 3 And they said to me, “The survivors who are
left from the captivity in the province are there in great
distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken
down, and its gates are burned with fire.” 4 So it was, when
I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and
mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before
the God of heaven.

Hebrews 6:10-12
10 For
God is not unjust to forget your work and
labor of love which you have shown toward His
name, in that you have ministered to the saints,
and do minister. 11 And we desire that each one of
you show the same diligence to the full assurance
of hope until the end, 12 that you do not become
sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and
patience inherit the promises.
Nehemiah
Nehemiah 2:4-5
4 Then the king said to me, “What do you request?” So I
prayed to the God of Heaven. 5 And I said to the king, “If it
pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in
your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of
my fathers’ tombs, that I may rebuild it.”

Nehemiah 2:11-15

Nehemiah 2:17-18
17 Then I said to them, “You see the distress that we are
in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with
fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we
may no longer be a reproach.” 18 And I told them of the
hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also
of the king’s words that he had spoken to me. So they
said, “Let us rise up and build.” Then they set their hands
to this good work.

Luke 14:28-30
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not
sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough
to finish it— 29 lest, after he has laid the foundation, and
is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30
saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to
finish’?
Nehemiah
Nehemiah 4:1-2
1 But it so happened, when Sanballat heard that we were
rebuilding the wall, that he was furious and very indignant, and
mocked the Jews. 2 And he spoke before his brethren and the
army of Samaria, and said, “What are these feeble Jews doing?
Will they fortify themselves? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they
complete it in a day? Will they revive the stones from the heaps
of rubbish—stones that are burned?”
Nehemiah 4:8
8 and all of them conspired together to come and attack
Jerusalem and create confusion.

Galatians 6:2
2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Revelation 2:10
10 Do not fear any of those things which you are about to
suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into
prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation
ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the
crown of life.
Nehemiah
Nehemiah 4:6
6 So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together
up to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.
Nehemiah 4:17-18
17 Those who built on the wall, and those who carried
burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they
worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon. 18
Every one of the builders had his sword girded at his side as
he built. And the one who sounded the trumpet was beside
me.
Nehemiah
Nehemiah 4:21-22
21 So we labored in the work, and half of the men held
the spears from daybreak until the stars appeared. 22 At
the same time I also said to the people, “Let each man
and his servant stay at night in Jerusalem, that they may
be our guard by night and a working party by day.”

2 Peter 2:1
2 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as
there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in
destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and
bring on themselves swift destruction.
Acts 20:29-31a
29 For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will
come in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also from among
yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw
away the disciples after themselves. 31 Therefore watch
Nehemiah
Nehemiah 6:15-16
15 So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of Elul,
in fifty-two days. 16 And it happened, when all our
enemies heard of it, and all the nations around us saw
these things, that they were very disheartened in their own
eyes; for they perceived that this work was done by our
God.

Revelation 14:13
13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write:
‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’”
“Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors,
and their works follow them.”
1 Corinthians 15:58
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast,
immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
